Think of Volnay as the smooth, elegant side of Burgundy, and this Robardelle Premier Cru is Philippe Pacalet’s pure, delicious take on it. This isn't a massive, heavy wine; it's all about finesse and balance, which the great 2022 vintage provided perfectly.

Pacalet is famous for making wine as naturally as possible, and you taste that purity immediately. He leaves the stems on the grapes during fermentation (called whole-bunch), which gives the wine a lovely, light spice and structure without being woody. 

In this Volnay, you get heaps of ripe red cherry and sweet berries, lifted by a hint of something earthy, almost like a subtle cinnamon or cocoa powder. Velvety smooth, not rough or chalky - This is pure silk.
