From the solo project of Sylvain's brother, Laurent. A tiny speck of 0.3ha of Pinot planted in 1981 in this top-tier vineyard of Marsannay. The diverse soils - spanning pebbles, dense red clay, and rocky limestone - impart a unique energy and tension. Eighty per cent whole-cluster lends unique lift and perfume. On the palate, boisterous fruit takes centre stage, veering toward umami-rich notes of undergrowth and savoury herbs with judicious aeration.

Sourced from tiny parcels, including his pioneering 20,000 vines/ha vineyard, these focused, high-intensity wines have historically been reserved almost entirely for the Japanese market.
